Introduction
- The Gospel is so simple.
- Not like something invented by man.
- Look at this text - so very full.
GOD'S APPOINTMENT
- God has fixed things: (i) time (ii) gravity (iii) sow - reap (iv) life-span.
- We must respect these fixed points:
- the created order
- the moral order
- the Gospel order
ONCE TO DIE
- the reference is to Temporal Death
- there are 3 forms of death
- some exceptions - prove the Rule
- A great change! (i) loss of body (ii) soul to another world (iii) "once" = no return here.
AFTER DEATH THE JUDGEMENT
- Literally, "a judgement". (Explain).
- The private and public judgement.
- The basis of this judgement.
- "All men" - you and I therefore.
THOSE WHO LOOK FOR HIM
- An activity of faith.
- Our warrant! (i) Christ's words (ii) Paul's words (iii) Peter's words (iv) John's Words
- The Lord's people love it: "Thy kingdom come" / "Even so, come" / "How long?"
- Why they love it: (i) to see Him (ii) to be like Him (iii) to be with Him
CHRIST'S SECOND APPEARING
- Comparison with the first appearance
- There will be a world "peace"
- External signs to accompany it
- Effects on the wicked
- Effects on the godly.
WITHOUT SIN UNTO SALVATION
- "without sin". Explain.
- Salvation. Its completion.
- All aspects of it complete.
- A renewed universe.
CONCLUSION
- Are you ready?
