Philemon
Philemon was a christian in or near to Colossae. One of his slaves, Onesimus, had robbed him and run away. In the divine providence, Onesimus had heard Paul in Rome, been converted, and became one of Paul's helpers. Paul, however, realised that Onesimus should go back to Philemon, and so sent him with this letter, and with Tychicus. The Colossian epistle was sent at the same time. Paul, in this letter, urges Philemon to receive Onesimus back, as a fellow christian.
